Frequently asked questions for Horseback Rides::
Where is the trailhead for my ride?
We are 26 miles from Basalt. It is a 45 minute to 1 hour drive from Basalt, all the way around Ruedi Reservoir. We are 1 hour and 15 minutes from Aspen and a hour from the Roaring Fork Valley. Once you leave Basalt there is NO cell service. There is a small General Store in Meredith for drinks and snacks, but there is NO fuel.
What age do you have to be to ride?
All riders must be 7 and older for trail rides.
Can my child ride with me?
Nope. One person per saddle. No exceptions.
Can we run or trot on the horses?
We do not allow any trotting or running on the trails. It’s called the Rocky Mountains for a reason.
What should I wear for the ride?
Long pants, closed toe shoes, and a jacket depending on weather in higher elevations
What should I bring for the ride?
We suggest water, sunscreen, and snack, if needed
Do you have a weight limit?
In order to keep riders and horses safe, we do have a weight limit of 250 lbs
We have a weather policy regarding rain and lightning. Safety is our number one priority. If the trails are unsafe, we will cancel or reschedule your ride.
